Recall training only works if your dog can actually get some distance from you. The LongLine™ comes in nine lengths from 1.2m up to 30m — so whether you need a short controlled lead for a new puppy, a 10m training line for park recall, or a full 30m line for field work and camping, there's one that fits. Flat nylon rope won't tangle like round cord, the padded sponge loop sits softly in your palm through long sessions, and the stainless bolt-snap clip won't shake loose when a large dog hits the end at a run.

Honest Notes
Not a day-to-day pavement lead. Any length over 3m is a trip hazard near roads or other people. This is a training tool for open spaces — parks, fields, beaches — not a substitute for a standard fixed lead on busy streets.
Gets muddy — rinse after use. Nylon picks up mud and grass when trailing on the ground. A quick rinse under a tap and air dry keeps it clean and prevents the rope from stiffening over time.
Start shorter if you're new to longline work. Longer lines (15m+) can build significant momentum. If your dog is reactive or you're new to this style of training, start with a shorter length and build up as your dog's recall improves.

Which length should I choose?
Use the table above as a guide. For puppy training or first recall work, start at 3m–6m. For established recall practice in open parks, 10m is the sweet spot. For field work, advanced gundog training, or camping where you want maximum safe range, go for 15m, 20m or 30m. The 1.2m and 1.8m are practical short leads for everyday use.
What's the best way to use a longline for recall training?
Let your dog move out to distance while you hold the end loosely or let it trail on the ground. Call them back using your recall cue. If they ignore it, use the lead to gently guide them toward you — don't yank. Reward heavily every time they return. The lead is a safety net, not a corrective tool.
Is this suitable for large breeds?
Yes — the nylon rope and stainless clip are built to handle the load of a large dog hitting the end at speed. The padded handle distributes the impact across your palm rather than a thin strip of nylon. For very large or powerful breeds on the longer lengths, grip the lead a few metres from the end rather than holding the full length out.
