The cat sheds. The dog sheds. The black jumper comes out of the wash with both. PawCatch is a small, quiet helper inside the drum — sponge balls that tumble with your laundry and grab the loose hair before it ends up clinging to the next load.
What it actually does
Each ball is 6 cm of soft sponge with a hollow centre. You toss three to five into the drum with your wash. As the load tumbles, loose pet hair and lint catches in the sponge texture instead of clinging to the fabric. When the cycle ends you pull the balls out, peel the hair off, and throw them back in for next time.
It's not a lint roller. It won't replace a pre-vacuum on heavy shedding weeks. What it does is cut the amount of hair that survives the wash — so the next load doesn't start by undoing the work you just did.
How to use them
- Drop 3–5 balls into the washing machine drum with your laundry.
- Run the cycle as normal — any temperature, any setting.
- At the end, take them out, peel the collected hair off the sponge, give them a rinse if needed.
- Store dry between uses. They go straight back in next wash.
- Safe with detergent, fabric softener and the dryer (low heat).
What's in the pack
- 5 sponge balls per pack — £9.95. Enough to keep three in the wash and two in rotation. Suits most single-pet and multi-pet households.
Colours (blue and orange). The colour doesn't change how they work — it just makes them easier to spot when you fish them out of the drum.

Honest answers
- Will these get all the hair out?
- No, and any product that promises to is overselling. They reliably reduce the hair that ends up on your clothes — they don't eliminate it. A black jumper after a heavy shedding week will still want a quick lint roll. A normal weekly wash with a furred household will come out noticeably cleaner.
- How many should I use per load?
- Three to five for a standard 7–8kg drum. Five to seven for a heavy load or a household with two long-haired pets. They don't need to be evenly distributed — the drum sorts that out.
- How long do they last?
- Most households get 30–50 wash cycles per ball before the sponge starts to break down. That works out to roughly 4–6 months of use for a 5-pack in a typical furred household. They're consumables, not fixtures.
- Will they damage my clothes?
- Round shape, no hard edges, no metal. They tumble alongside the wash like any other soft item. We'd avoid using them with delicate hand-wash items just because the friction is unnecessary there — but for everyday loads they're fine.
- Tumble dryer too?
- Yes, on low heat. They keep working in the dryer and help break up loose hair as the load fluffs. Don't run them on high heat.
- Do I still need to clean the lint filter?
- Yes. Always. PawCatch catches what would otherwise cling to fabric — your machine's filter still does its job afterwards. Empty the filter as normal.
Who this is for
Households with shedding cats or dogs who are tired of pulling another jumper out of the wash covered in fur. Households with kids whose school uniforms keep coming home with the dog's coat baked into them. Anyone who's done the maths on lint rollers and decided there has to be a less wasteful way of fighting this fight.
