The PawDen™ is shaped like a donut — a rounded felt torus with a circular tunnel running through the middle. Zip it closed and your cat has a proper enclosed cave: a cosy, dimly lit hollow they can curl inside and feel genuinely hidden. Unzip it and the structure opens into two halves, creating a wide, open lounge pod they can sprawl across, nest into the rim, or simply drape themselves over.
Cats move between wanting to hide and wanting to be visible throughout the day. Most beds only serve one of those needs. The PawDen™ handles both — and switching between modes takes about three seconds.

Worth knowing
If your cat is between sizes, go larger — the extra room makes cave mode more comfortable to enter and exit, and gives more sprawl space in lounge mode. Cats rarely complain about extra space.

Built from felt, built to last
The PawDen™ is made from scratch-resistant felt throughout — the same dense, tightly compressed fabric used in quality cat scratchers and climbing posts. It holds its domed shape after repeated use, doesn't collapse when a cat leans on the rim, and resists the casual claw-drag most cats perform as they settle in.
The tunnel opening is reinforced so it keeps its circular shape over time. The equator zipper runs smoothly and sits flat in cave mode so it doesn't press against a sleeping cat. The base sits flush to the floor — no rocking, no tipping when a cat makes a running entrance.
Care
Spot clean as needed with a damp cloth. For a deeper clean, hand wash in cool water and allow to air dry fully before use. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or use bleach — felt can shrink or distort at high temperatures. The structure will hold its shape when handled gently during washing.

Common questions
Will my cat actually use the cave mode?
Most cats will investigate the tunnel opening within the first day or two, especially if you place a treat or a piece of their current bedding inside. Cats that already hide under furniture, in boxes, or in low-light spaces tend to take to cave mode quickly — it satisfies the same instinct. If your cat shows no interest in enclosed spaces, lounge mode gives them the open pod they prefer, and you can leave cave mode for later.
Is it suitable for multiple cats?
Two smaller cats can share the lounge mode comfortably in the large size — the open bowl is wide enough for two cats to curl up side by side. Cave mode is designed for one cat at a time due to the enclosed tunnel dimensions. If you have multiple cats, we'd recommend one PawDen™ per cat to avoid any territorial disagreements over the space.
What if my cat scratches it?
Felt is inherently scratch-resistant — the dense fibre structure doesn't snag or unravel the way woven fabrics can. A cat's claws don't get the purchase they need to do real damage. Some light pilling over time is normal and doesn't affect the structure. If your cat is a heavy scratcher, providing a dedicated scratcher nearby (like our PawScratch™) will help redirect the behaviour.
Does the zip pose any safety risk?
The zipper runs around the equator of the structure, not inside the sleeping area. In cave mode, the zip sits on the outer wall of the tunnel and lies flat — cats sleeping inside the cave are not in contact with it. We recommend checking the zip periodically and keeping it clean and smooth. If your cat is a very active chewer, monitor accordingly, as with any product containing hardware.
Does the felt smell when new?
Some compressed felt products have a faint natural wool or processing smell when first unpacked. This dissipates fully within a day or two of airing out in a room. Leave it open in a well-ventilated space before use if you or your cat are sensitive to new smells. There are no added dyes or coatings on the interior surface.
