Your cat sleeps in your laundry basket, your shoebox, and the gap behind the sofa. Not the open cushion bed you bought them. PawNap™ is designed around what cats actually want: something enclosed, soft, and just the right size to disappear into.
The PawNap™ sleeping bag bed wraps around your cat on three sides with a soft cotton outer and fibre-padded walls that hold their shape even after washing. The front opening stays naturally ajar — not forced shut, not flopped open. Inside, a removable padded inner cushion lifts out for washing. A matching mini head pillow is included, sized so your cat can rest their chin on it while tucked in.
The design is based on Japanese uchi-neko (house cat) bedding traditions — the same principle behind the quilted cat sleeping bags that have been popular in Japan for years. Three illustrated prints: a navy cat-face pattern, a pastel rocking-horse print, and a yellow illustrated pattern. Each comes with a coordinating mini pillow in the same print.
Why cats actually use this
Cats are simultaneously hunters and prey animals. In the wild, sleeping in the open means vulnerability — so your domestic cat still instinctively seeks out small, enclosed, soft spaces. This is why they sleep in shoeboxes, sock drawers, and cardboard packaging rather than the open cushion bed you bought them.

Cats prefer a snug fit — if you’re between sizes, size down. Dogs prefer room to turn — size up.
Worth knowing before you order
Most cats take 2–3 days to accept a new bed. Leave it in a spot your cat already naps, place a worn item of clothing inside for the first night, or add a small pinch of catnip. Patience usually wins.
The inner cushion and mini pillow are removable and machine-washable on a cool gentle cycle. Remove both before washing. The outer shell is spot-clean only — do not machine-wash the outer.
A microwave heat pad (not included) can be placed under the inner cushion for winter warmth. Do not place electric heat sources inside the bed.
The prints
Blue/navy — Japanese cat-face print. White illustrated cat faces on a deep navy ground. The most graphic of the three; suits neutral or Scandi-style interiors. Popular with owners who want something that looks considered rather than obviously “pet.”
Yellow — illustrated print. Bright yellow ground with a repeated illustrated pattern. Stands out well in neutral rooms. The cheerful option.
Pink — pastel illustrated print. Soft pink ground with a playful illustrated pattern. The most gift-friendly of the three. Each print comes with a coordinating mini pillow in the same fabric.

My cat ignored the last bed I bought them. Will they use this?
Cats tend to ignore open-top flat beds because they offer no sense of enclosure. PawNap’s semi-enclosed design works with the instinct that sends cats to shoeboxes and laundry baskets — they can see out through the opening but feel covered on three sides. Most cats approach a new bed cautiously for 2–3 days. Placing it in a spot they already nap, adding a worn item of clothing, or a pinch of catnip usually helps.
Is the mini pillow washable?
Yes — both the inner cushion and the mini head pillow are removable and machine-washable on a cool gentle cycle. The outer shell of the bed is spot-clean only.
Can I use a heat pad with it?
A microwave heat pad (not an electric one) can be placed under the inner cushion for extra warmth in winter. Do not place electric heating pads or heat sources inside the bed. Microwave heat pad not included.
Will it keep its shape after washing?
The sides are filled with supportive fibre padding that holds the opening shape rather than collapsing flat. Wash the inner cushion and pillow on a cool gentle cycle and allow to air dry fully before reassembling.
Does it work for small dogs?
Small breeds that like to burrow — Chihuahuas, Yorkies, Toy Poodles, small Dachshunds — often take to it well. Larger dogs generally prefer an open bed where they have room to turn around. Use the size guidance: M suits dogs up to 3.5 kg, L suits dogs up to 7.5 kg. For bigger dogs, this isn’t the right product.
Is it safe for pets that chew bedding?
PawNap is a bed, not a chew toy. If your pet is a heavy chewer or shreds soft furnishings, supervise them with it initially and do not leave them unsupervised until you’re confident they won’t damage it.
