Most cats eat from one dish and drink from another — two separate locations, two placemats, two things to clean and keep topped up. PawNook puts both on a single base: a cat-shaped tilted feeding bowl on the right, and a gravity water station on the left that quietly refills the drinking well as your cat drinks from it.

The 15-degree tilted bowl

The feeding bowl sits at a deliberate 15-degree forward tilt. The practical effect is that food naturally settles toward the front of the bowl rather than scattering around the rim — useful for cats that push the last few pieces around to catch them. Some cats seem to prefer eating from a tilted surface; others don’t particularly notice. We don’t make posture or digestion claims about the angle — the honest benefit is that it’s a slightly easier bowl to eat from.

The gravity water station

The clear ~500ml bottle clips into the reservoir well and tops the drinking level up silently as your cat drinks it down — no pump, no power, no filter. It’s gravity doing one simple job. The water stays fresh because it comes from a recently refilled sealed bottle, and the level stays consistent between your morning and evening checks. It is not a fountain and isn’t trying to be one: if your cat specifically needs moving filtered water to drink adequately, a fountain is the right product.

Three pieces, one footprint

The base, the tilted bowl, and the water bottle are three separate pieces that lift apart without tools. The bowl lifts out of the base for rinsing; the bottle lifts straight out from above for refilling. The whole station sits on a 24cm × 13cm footprint — tidier than two separate dishes on two separate placemats, and simpler to clean because every part separates.

Sized right for cats and small dogs

PawNook is designed around the cat. The cat-shaped bowl design, the bowl depth, and the 21cm height are all sized for cats and very small dogs — Chihuahuas, Yorkies, and similar miniature breeds under approximately 5kg. For medium or larger dogs this station is too small; it’s a cat product first.

Honest notes

This is not a fountain. There is no pump, no filter, and no flowing or aerated water. The bottle keeps the reservoir topped up by gravity — simple, silent, and effective for most cats. If your cat specifically under-drinks and only responds to moving filtered water, a fountain (we sell PawSpring and PawSip separately) is the right product.

Refill the bottle daily. The gravity system works best with fresh water. Empty, rinse, and refill the bottle every 24 hours — it takes about 30 seconds and keeps the drinking water genuinely fresh rather than just level.

Sized for cats and very small dogs only. The 24cm footprint, bowl depth, and 21cm height are cat-scale. Anything above approximately 5kg will find this station too small — it is a cat product first.

Hand-wash only for now. We haven’t confirmed dishwasher tolerance with the supplier. The three pieces separate easily and wash quickly by hand with warm soapy water.

Questions & answers

Is the water actually automatic?

It’s gravity-fed, not powered. As your cat drinks down the water in the open well, water flows from the bottle above to keep the level topped up — silently and without any intervention from you. There’s no pump, no electricity, and no filter. It’s a simple, reliable mechanism, not a fountain.

How often do I need to refill the bottle?

For one cat the bottle typically lasts two to three days before it needs refilling. We’d still suggest a daily empty-and-refill routine — fresh water is the goal, and the bottle rinses out in 30 seconds. The reservoir bowl should also be rinsed out each time.

Does the tilt actually make a difference?

The honest answer: some cats seem to prefer eating from a tilted bowl, and some don’t particularly notice. The most reliable practical benefit is that food settles toward the front rather than scattering to the far rim — which makes the last few mouthfuls easier to reach. We don’t make posture or digestion claims about the 15-degree angle.

Will it work for my dog?

For very small dogs under approximately 5kg — Chihuahuas, Yorkies, miniature breeds — the bowl size and water capacity are appropriate. For anything larger, this station is too small. PawNook is designed first and foremost for cats.

My cat under-drinks — will this help?

Probably not on its own. Cats that consistently under-drink usually respond better to moving filtered water — which a fountain provides. If hydration is the specific problem, our PawSpring or PawSip fountains are the right product. PawNook suits households where the cat drinks normally and you want a tidier single-base setup.
