PawTrek Foldable Dog Travel Bowl

PawTrek Foldable Dog Travel Bowl

Quantity

Most dogs don't drink enough on a walk because the offer isn't there. A puddle is the wrong answer; a cupped hand is awkward and uses your water bottle twice. The bowl that solves it is the one already clipped to your lead before you leave the house.

PawTrek is a silicone travel bowl with a hard rim that holds its shape when expanded and folds completely flat when it doesn't. It clips by carabiner to a lead, a rucksack strap, or a belt loop. At 1.3 cm thick when folded it disappears into a coat pocket. Pull it open, pour from your bottle, the dog drinks. Squash flat, clip back, walk on.

It is, deliberately, a small idea well executed. There is nothing clever about it beyond the fact that it is always with you when you need it — which is the exact reason most dog owners who own a travel bowl don't actually use one. The folding ones live in a drawer at home. This one lives on the lead.

At a glance
  • 12.8 cm wide × 5.2 cm deep when expanded — holds approximately 350–400 ml
  • Folds to 1.3 cm thick — pocket-flat, drawer-flat, glove-box-flat
  • Food-grade silicone bowl pocket; hard rim for shape; carabiner clip integrated
  • Choice of four colours: black, blue, purple, pink
  • Hand-wash with warm soapy water; air-dry before folding away

Why a clipped bowl beats a folded bowl

Travel bowls have a quiet problem: the moment they go in a bag, you stop using them. You forget. The dog is panting, you reach for it, it's at home on the kitchen table. PawTrek solves the problem by changing where the bowl lives. It clips to the lead. The lead lives by the door. The bowl is, by default, with you.

The carabiner is doing real work here. It's not decorative. It's the difference between a bowl you own and a bowl you actually use.

Built for the walk it's actually doing

Silicone is the right material for a bowl that gets crammed into pockets and rinsed out under taps. It's flexible, it doesn't crack like hard plastic, it doesn't dent like metal, and it cleans up under cold water from a bottle if that's all you have. The hard rim gives it the structure to hold water without folding inward at the wrong moment. The two materials work together — flex where you need flex, rigid where you need rigid.

It's not a fancy product. It's a useful one.

A few honest notes:

Not a chew toy. Some dogs will investigate the rim with their teeth. Keep it clipped to the lead or stowed when it's not actively in use.

Hand-wash, air-dry. Warm soapy water, rinse, leave open until completely dry before folding. Trapped moisture is the only thing that will shorten its life.

Capacity is approximate. Fill to roughly two-thirds for a settled drink without spillage when the dog laps enthusiastically.

Where it earns its keep

Long walks where you're off the usual loop and there's no tap. Summer afternoons when the pavement holds heat and the dog's tongue is doing more work than usual. Car journeys to the in-laws when the motorway services queue is too long to bother with. Beach trips where saltwater is the wrong drink. Pub gardens where staff don't always remember to bring the dog bowl out. Hiking, where the difference between carrying a folded silicone disc and carrying a rigid bowl is the entire reason you bought the folding one.

It's small enough to be unfair to leave at home.

Frequently asked

How much water does it hold?

Approximately 350–400 ml when filled to the recommended line. That's enough for a medium dog to take a settled drink on a long walk, or to top up twice on a hot day.

Can I use it for food as well as water?

Yes. The silicone bowl pocket is food-grade and washes clean. Most owners use it for water on walks and dry food on travel days; just rinse between uses to keep flavours separate.

Is it dishwasher safe?

We recommend hand-wash with warm soapy water and air-dry. The silicone tolerates a dishwasher well; the hard rim is best kept out of high heat to preserve the carabiner mechanism.

Will the carabiner take the weight when it's full?

Yes — clipped to a lead, rucksack strap or belt loop, the integrated carabiner holds the filled bowl comfortably. We'd still suggest unclipping before letting the dog drink, so the bowl sits flat on the ground rather than swinging.

Will it leak if I clip it to my bag with water inside?

It holds water without leaking once expanded flat, but we wouldn't recommend carrying it filled. Empty in transit, fill when you stop. That's the design intent and it keeps the bag dry.

Can I throw it for the dog like a frisbee?

No. PawTrek is designed as a bowl, not a flying disc. The hard rim is there to hold its shape when expanded — it isn't built for catching, and we don't recommend throwing it for play.
