A roller can't fix a wool coat. The fibres are too long, the lint is woven in, the pet hair is buried in the nap. This can.
The PawShave fabric pet hair remover handles the surfaces a brush roller gives up on — wool coats, cashmere sweaters, knitwear, suits, and any fabric where pet hair has worked itself into the nap or where the surface has started to pill. Drag it across the fabric in even strokes; the brass-coloured metal coil catches the loose hair and the small lint balls and pulls them clear. No batteries, no refills, no electronics — just a hand tool that does one thing well.
Shaver vs roller vs sticky sheet
If you've already got a reusable roller (or you're about to buy one), this is the second tool, not the first. The roller does broad surfaces — sofa, car seat, t-shirt. The shaver does what the roller can't: wool, cashmere, knitwear, and the small fabric pills that form on those fabrics with wear. Different jobs.

What it does, in plain language
- Lifts pet hair out of the nap — works where rollers slide off, on wool, cashmere, knitwear, suits
- Removes fabric pilling — the small lint balls that form on knitwear with wear; the coil catches them and pulls them clear
- 13 cm coil head, wooden handle — covers a coat sleeve in a few strokes, the handle gives a steady grip without strain
- No batteries, no refills, no electronics — pure mechanical, can't run out
- Travel-friendly — small, light, fits in a wardrobe drawer or a holdall
A note on technique — and on delicate fabrics:
Drag it across the fabric in even, light strokes, following the weave. Heavy pressure isn't faster — it just risks pulling at the fibres on very delicate fabrics like fine cashmere or loose-knit wool. For those, test on an inside seam first.
It's a hand tool with a metal coil, not a magic wand. Used right, it does its job and doesn't damage the fabric. Used too aggressively on something fragile, it can pull threads. Worth knowing up front.
How to use it
Common questions
Will it damage my wool coat or cashmere sweater?
Used with light, even pressure in the direction of the weave, no — the coil teeth are designed to catch surface fibres (loose hair, formed pills) without digging into the structural fibres beneath. On fine cashmere or very loose-knit wool, test on an inside seam first and use a lighter touch. Heavy pressure on fragile fabrics is what causes pulls, not the tool itself.
How is this different from your reusable pet hair roller?
Different surfaces. The roller works best on broad flat fabrics — sofa cushions, car seats, t-shirts, bedding. PawShave works best on knitwear, wool coats, cashmere, suits, and fabric pilling. A pet owner with both a sofa and a wool coat needs both. They handle the surfaces the other one can't.
Does it remove fabric pilling, or just pet hair?
Both. The fine coil teeth catch loose pet hair embedded in the nap and the small lint balls (pills) that form on knitwear with wear. The "removes pills from sweaters" use case is half of why people buy this kind of tool — the pet-hair use is the other half. Same product, two jobs.
What's the coil made of?
A brass-coloured fine metal coil set in a steel frame, with a turned wooden handle. We've seen this product type sold elsewhere as "copper coil" — we're not making that claim because we haven't verified the material spec from the supplier. Visually it reads brass / copper-tone. Either way, the function is the same: fine metal teeth that catch surface fibres without snagging the weave.
